Types of HRMS Solutions

A suite covers records, onboarding, compliance, learning and performance in one product. Everything shares one employee record, permissions work consistently, and there is one supplier to hold accountable. Individual modules are usually adequate rather than excellent.
Best-of-breed means choosing the strongest product in each area. Each one is better in isolation. You then own the integrations, the duplicate records, and the argument about which system is right on the day two of them disagree.
Smaller organisations are almost always better served by a suite, because nobody there has the capacity to maintain integrations. Larger ones can carry that overhead, but only where one area genuinely needs specialist capability.
The Fair Work Ombudsman covers employee record obligations. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
