Sentrient is an all-in-one HR system for contracting and trades businesses in Australia and New Zealand. It covers recruitment, onboarding, licence and training records, policies, incident reporting, performance and employee engagement in one platform, with one record per worker.
HR Software For Contractors
A simple-to-implement, easy-to-use, and reliable all-in-one HR system built for contractors and trades businesses across Australia. Onboard crews before they reach site, keep licences, tickets and inductions current, put policies and training in front of employees and subcontractors alike, and manage the full employee lifecycle from one platform.
HR Software Built for Contractors and Contracting Businesses
Contracting businesses run workforces that rarely sit in one place. Crews move between client sites, subcontractors come and go, and every person on the job needs the right licence, ticket and induction before they start. Under Australian WHS law your duty of care covers contractors, subcontractors and labour hire workers as well as employees, and you cannot subcontract that duty away. Getting the employee-versus-contractor line wrong carries its own risk under the Fair Work Act. Sentrient’s HR software for contractors in Australia brings recruitment, onboarding, licence tracking, inductions, policies, records, incident reporting and performance into one platform. Site supervisors and office staff see who is current and who is not, from any device, without chasing photos of tickets across text messages and spreadsheets.

FAQs About Our HR Software for Contractors
Our HR software is designed to simplify HR for contractors and trades businesses. Here are the questions we hear most often from owners, office managers and site supervisors.
Yes. Sentrient is built and supported in Australia. The platform comes preloaded with Australian policies, forms and WHS courses, and it is used by organisations that manage field teams, sites and contracts across the country.
Most contracting businesses run a job management or field service tool for quoting, scheduling and invoicing, a payroll tool for pay and awards, and an HR system for recruitment, onboarding, licences, training, policies and records. Sentrient is the HR and compliance layer in that stack.
No. Sentrient focuses on HR, compliance, learning and performance. It records timesheets and attendance and integrates with payroll platforms such as Xero, MYOB and KeyPay, so it works beside the scheduling, payroll and job management tools you already use.
Yes. Each licence, ticket, general construction induction card, high risk work licence and qualification is stored against the worker with an issue date, expiry date and a copy of the document. Supervisors can check who is current before a job starts.
Every credential has an expiry date. Reminders go to the worker and their manager before the date, and a dashboard shows everything expiring across the business, so nothing depends on one person remembering or a photo in a text thread.
The Fair Work Ombudsman looks at the whole relationship, including who controls the work, who carries the financial risk, who supplies the tools and whether the person can delegate the work. Getting it wrong is a legal risk. Sentrient does not decide the status for you, but it lets you keep separate, complete records for employees and subcontractors so the paperwork matches the arrangement.
Under Australian WHS law a "worker" includes contractors, subcontractors, labour hire workers, apprentices and volunteers, and Safe Work Australia is clear that a business cannot subcontract its duty of care away. Sentrient lets you assign inductions, policies and training to every category of worker and keep the evidence in one place. Meeting the duty remains the business's responsibility.
Yes. Sentrient includes pre-built courses written for employees, contractors and volunteers, including work health and safety, manual handling, working alone, chain of responsibility, incident reporting, conflicts of interest and professional boundaries. You can also build your own site or client inductions and track external training such as white card and high risk work licence courses.
Yes. Courses can be assigned by role, site or client with a renewal period, so refresher training is reassigned automatically and completion is tracked without a spreadsheet. Course building, assessments and client-ready reporting are covered on our LMS for contractors page.
Employment contracts and subcontract agreements, position descriptions, licences, tickets, qualifications, insurance certificates, induction and training completions, policy acknowledgements, performance reviews, incident reports and timesheets, all held securely against the worker's record.
Records are already organised by worker and by type, and reports can be filtered by site or client. You can show which crew members are licensed, inducted and current, and where the gaps are, without assembling evidence from email the night before an audit.
Yes. Sentrient includes incident reporting and risk management, so a worker can log an incident, hazard or near miss from their phone and managers can follow it through to closure. Reporting to a regulator or a client remains the business's responsibility.
New starters complete pre-boarding online before their first day. The system collects identity documents, licences, tickets, induction evidence and signed policies, assigns starter training and shows the office what is still outstanding, so the first morning on site is not spent on paperwork.
Yes. Subcontractors, casuals, apprentices and labour hire workers can each have a record with their own licences, inductions, insurances and policy acknowledgements, so a supervisor can see whether everyone on a job is current.
Yes. Workers can be assigned to sites, jobs and supervisors, managers see their own crews, and reporting can be filtered by site so you can compare licence currency, training and turnover across the business.
Clear position descriptions, regular goals and feedback, recorded one-on-ones and visible recognition give people structure and a sense of progress. Announcements and a community wall reach crews on the road and on site, so they stay connected to the business between jobs.
Managers can schedule reviews, record notes, set goals and build development plans in one place, which makes it easier to identify and grow the next leading hand or supervisor.
Yes. Workers use a simple interface on their phone to complete inductions and training, sign policies, submit forms and report incidents. Courses are short and mobile-friendly and the system is designed to be easy to use with minimal training.
One record per worker whether they are employed or subcontracted, licences and training tracked with reminders, pre-built WHS and conduct courses, policy acknowledgement and incident reporting in the same platform, and Australian-based support. You are not stitching together separate HR, learning and safety tools.
Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil, facilities and maintenance, cleaning, landscaping and other trade and service contractors with crews on client sites, from a single depot to multi-state operations. Published Sentrient clients include Pental, E3 Advisory, Engineers Australia and Housing Trust. Builders running their own sites are better served by our HR software for builders.
Sentrient is designed to be simple to implement. Our team supports you through setup, data import and manager training, and preloaded courses, policies and forms mean you do not start from a blank page.
Pricing depends on the size of your workforce and the modules you need. Contact us for a tailored proposal.
