The Company
Care Forward is a locally owned and operated organisation, specialising in health and homecare services that support the independence of older Tasmanians and people living with chronic conditions or disabilities. For over 21 years, they have provided home-based care and support to individuals sixty-five and over, or if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander fifty and over, across Tasmania. Their passionate team comprises clinical staff, allied health professionals, home independence support staff, domestic assistants, and home and garden maintenance staff all working towards enhancing independence, health, and wellbeing for their clients.
The Challenge
Care Forward face several operational challenges related to regulatory compliance requirements and staff training, primarily in managing the certifications, licenses, and access to mandatory training required for their frontline workers. Sentrient is an effective system to manage compliance with certified police checks and tracking training renewals and ensuring efficient and accurate reporting. Additionally, there was a need to streamline communication and internal processes, reducing dependency on individuals while improving accessibility for their workforce, especially since many frontline staff members work remotely or in the field.
The Solution
Sentrient addresses these challenges efficiently and effectively. The system allows them to manage critical employee records such as certified police checks, mandatory training certification, first aid certifications, and other regulatory documentation. Sentrient’s notification system enabled the team to stay on top of compliance deadlines, ensuring that no certifications lapsed without renewal. This has been particularly beneficial for maintaining compliance with Australia’s evolving regulatory environment, which has seen significant changes following the Royal Commission on Aged Care in 2021. Additionally, staff access training and policies and procedures at anytime, anywhere from any device when it is convenient for them. Sentrient reports assist managers in track completions to ensure staff have completed training and that they are knowledgeable, skilled, and safe while they work.
