Sentrient is a Compliance, GRC and HR software solution, built and supported in Australia and hosted on Microsoft Azure. This guide explains how Sentrient connects to the payroll, finance and identity systems you already use – what data moves, in which direction, and how that connection is secured – so finance departments, GRC teams, HR decision-makers and IT stakeholders can evaluate it with confidence.
Overview
- Five integrations, one source of truth. Sentrient connects to Xero, MYOB AccountRight, MYOB Advanced, NetSuite and HeroPay for payroll data, plus Active Directory / Azure AD for single sign-on.
- Sentrient is the source of truth. Staff details, banking, tax and leave are entered once in Sentrient and flow through to your payroll platform – not the other way round (leave can sync back from MYOB AccountRight and Xero).
- Synced on your terms. Updates can be sent on demand or automatically via a daily scheduled sync, configured to your setup.
- Secure by design. Encrypted connections, single-tenant architecture, and data hosted in Australia on Microsoft Azure.
- Independently certified. ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified, with annual independent penetration testing by ZIRILIO.

What Sentrient Does
Sentrient acts as your organisation’s system of record for Compliance, GRC and HR. This includes personal information, bank details, superannuation and TFN information, onboarding, compliance training, policies, records, forms, and surveys. It is not a payroll or finance system, and it isn’t trying to replace one. Instead, Sentrient is designed to sit alongside your existing payroll and accounting platform, keeping staff data consistent across both systems without double handling.
Why Integration Matters
Without integration, HR and payroll teams end up entering the same staff details – names, addresses, bank details, tax declarations, leave – into two separate systems, which creates admin overhead and room for error. Sentrient’s integrations remove that duplication: staff details are entered once in Sentrient and flow through to your payroll or accounting platform, keeping both systems aligned.
Systems We Integrate With
Sentrient currently supports the following integrations, listed alphabetically. Active Directory / Azure AD is used only for authentication (single sign-on); the rest move staff and payroll data.
| System | Category | What syncs | Direction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active Directory / Azure AD | Identity & access (SSO) | User authentication only – no payroll data involved | Your identity provider → Sentrient |
| HeroPay | Payroll | Core staff and payroll data, configured to your HeroPay setup | Sentrient → HeroPay |
| MYOB AccountRight | Accounting & payroll | Basic details, payroll details, banking, superannuation, tax file number, leave, payslips | Sentrient → MYOB AccountRight (leave can sync back) |
| MYOB Advanced | ERP & payroll | Basic details, position/department/branch, banking, tax, leave workgroup | Sentrient → MYOB Advanced |
| NetSuite | ERP & payroll | Core staff and payroll data, configured to your NetSuite setup | Sentrient → NetSuite |
| Xero | Payroll & accounting | Basic staff details, superannuation, banking details, tax declaration, leave, payslips | Sentrient → Xero (leave can sync back) |
HeroPay
Sentrient integrates with HeroPay, syncing core staff and payroll data in the same way as the other payroll integrations described here – configured to your specific HeroPay setup during implementation. Your account manager can walk through field mapping and sync options as part of onboarding.
MYOB AccountRight
MYOB AccountRight is a separate product to MYOB Advanced, and Sentrient connects to it via its own dedicated integration. Once authorised against your MYOB AccountRight company file, staff basic details, payroll details, banking details, superannuation, tax file number and leave are each optionally enabled and synced from Sentrient to MYOB AccountRight – either on demand (“Save & Copy to MYOB”) or automatically via a daily scheduled sync. First name, last name and the Sentrient employee code are required fields on the MYOB AccountRight side, and values such as employment classification, super fund and wages expense account are pulled from MYOB AccountRight’s own lists rather than created fresh in Sentrient.
MYOB Advanced
MYOB Advanced is a cloud ERP platform, and the Sentrient integration is built for organisations who run payroll and finance through it. Sentrient is the single source of truth for the mapped fields – basic details, position, department, branch, calendar, banking and tax – meaning updates in Sentrient overwrite the corresponding MYOB Advanced record (the one exception is Employee ID, which flows the other way into Sentrient as the Employee Code). Before a new staff record can sync, first name, last name, date of birth and banking details must be completed in Sentrient. The connection itself (API URL, client ID and secret) is configured and maintained by Sentrient, so there’s nothing for your team to manage on that front.
NetSuite
Sentrient integrates with NetSuite, syncing core staff and payroll data in the same way as the other payroll integrations described here – configured to your specific NetSuite setup during implementation. Your account manager can walk through field mapping and sync options as part of onboarding.
Xero
The Xero integration is built for organisations using Xero for payroll, tax and accounting. Staff basic details, superannuation, banking details, tax declaration and leave are each optionally enabled and synced from Sentrient to Xero – either on demand (“Save & Copy to Xero”) or automatically via a daily scheduled sync. Leave can also sync back from Xero into Sentrient. Required Xero fields (first name, last name, date of birth, address, suburb, state, postcode, tax file number) are validated on the Sentrient side before syncing.
Active Directory / Azure AD – Single Sign-On
Separately to payroll integrations, Sentrient supports Single Sign-On (SSO) so your people can log in using your existing identity provider – including Active Directory / Azure AD, as well as SAML 2.0, Okta and Google Workspace. This is an authentication connection only: no payroll or financial data is involved. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is available as an optional, client-configurable setting on top of SSO.
Security You Can Rely On
Every integration runs over the same security foundation that underpins the rest of the Sentrient platform:
- Encrypted connections. All third-party integrations use secure, encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or higher), maintained as part of the core Sentrient platform.
- Hosted in Australia. Data is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the AU East region, with disaster recovery in AU Southeast – it never leaves Australia.
- Single-tenant architecture. Every client has an isolated database, application and memory pool. Nothing is shared between clients.
- Encrypted at rest and in transit. The database is encrypted using AES-256 (TDE), with keys managed in Azure Key Vault.
- Your data is your data. Sentrient claims no ownership over client data, and it is never used to train AI models.
- Recognised governance framework. Sentrient’s security governance is modelled on APRA’s Prudential Practice Guide CPG 234 – Information Security.
- Independently tested and certified. Annual penetration testing is carried out by ZIRILIO, an Australian security testing firm, and Sentrient is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
What This Means for HR Managers
For the team running HR day to day, integration means less admin and fewer errors: staff details, banking, tax and leave are entered once in Sentrient and flow through to payroll automatically, rather than being re-keyed. Onboarding a new starter, updating a bank account, or approving leave all flow through to your payroll system without a second data entry step, and Sentrient remains the single place your team manages compliance, policies and HR records.
What This Means for IT Heads
For IT and security stakeholders, the integrations sit inside the same due-diligence picture as the rest of the platform: encrypted connections, an isolated single-tenant environment, Australian data residency, ISO 27001 certification, and annual independent penetration testing. Connection credentials for integrations such as MYOB Advanced are configured and maintained by Sentrient, and SSO/MFA options let you extend your own identity and access controls to Sentrient rather than managing a separate credential set. A full breakdown – covering hosting, encryption, access control, incident response and AI use – is available on our IT Security & Due Diligence page.
