Like many regional not-for-profit health care organisations, the GCH workforce of 150 is a mixture of permanent and part-time staff spread across several locations. With compliance requirements and cost pressures increasing in their sector, GCH began looking for an online solution to its training requirements to overcome the difficulties and expense associated with a traditional face-to-face approach for a dispersed workforce. We recently caught up with GCH CEO, Greg Little, and Executive Administrator and Quality Coordinator, Kerry Heinrich, who shared with us their reasons for adopting Sentrient’s system.
“Health care in Australia is undergoing a generational change,” said Greg. “Initiatives like myagedcare and NDIS are driving higher compliance and accreditation standards. For me to drive change and mitigate compliance risk, I need a reliable tool to share essential information with my team and to provide me with evidence that everyone has received and understood. Sentrient provides this evidence-based tool, and saves money on our previous approach.”
As the system administrator for GCH, Kerry said she finds the Sentrient dashboard to be a simple and effective way of monitoring compliance. “The automatic reminders put the onus back on staff to complete their training on time, and the ability to report based on work teams makes it easy for managers to follow-up when necessary.” Kerry also mentioned that the ability for her to easily upload new content is a real bonus, and that the service from Sentrient had been very responsive.
In fostering strong, healthy, thriving and connected communities, GCH believes everyone should have the opportunity to be a healthy, safe and valued member of their community. GCH provides a safe, inclusive and respectful working environment that values a person’s culture, beliefs, values, gender identity and capacity. Sentrient is proud to be providing the system that allows GCH to promote and reinforce these themes among its workforce.
