Psychological Health And Safety Certificate
A psychological health and safety certificate matters less as an achievement than as evidence. Its real function is answering the question a regulator, an insurer or a lawyer asks after something has gone wrong.
That question is usually some version of what steps did you take. A certificate on its own is a thin answer. A useful record shows who completed what, on what date, which version of the content they saw, that the right roles were covered rather than a self-selecting few, and that refreshers happened.
Keep it centrally rather than in individual inboxes, keep it for as long as your other work health and safety records, and make sure it survives people leaving. A completion record you cannot produce is the same as not having one.
Worth being clear that a certificate evidences training. It does not evidence that hazards were identified, that risks were assessed or that controls were put in place, and those are the larger part of the duty.
Safe Work Australia sets out what managing psychosocial hazards involves. This is general information rather than legal advice.
