What Should I Do If I Feel Sexually Harassed
Behind the question of what should I do if I feel sexually harassed there is usually a second one. Was it bad enough to count?
That doubt is extremely common, and it is worth separating from the decision. The legal test does not require the conduct to be severe, repeated, or intended to cause harm. A single incident can meet it. Whether other people would be bothered is not the question either.
You also do not have to decide that it was harassment before you do anything. You can write down what happened. You can talk to your EAP, a union, or a support service confidentially and without starting a process. You can ask what your options would be without using any of them.
Support is available, and using it is not an escalation. The Australian Human Rights Commission explains the test and the pathways. This is general information rather than legal advice.
