Corporate diversity training aimed at boards and executives is frequently the same module everyone else received, which wastes the audience.
Directors do not run recruitment panels or allocate development. Their contribution is oversight, and oversight is a questioning skill.
What that looks like is a small number of questions asked consistently. Show me representation by level, not overall. Show me the pay gap by level and role, not as one average. What are our promotion rates by gender within each level. What is the approval rate on flexible work requests, broken down by manager. Which of these has moved in two years, and if none, what are we doing differently.
Two hours covering those does more than a full day of definitions, and it gives management something specific to report against.
