The benefits of incident management software are usually argued at the point of capture, and capture is rarely where organisations lose incidents. They lose them afterwards.
An incident is reported, an action is agreed, someone is named, and then it drifts. There is no due date, no reminder, and no report showing what is overdue. Six months later the same incident recurs and the investigation finds the earlier action was never completed.
