Dispute resolution training is procedural. What your enterprise agreement or contract dispute clause actually requires, the order of the steps, who must be notified, what has to be recorded, and what happens when a party goes external before the internal stages are exhausted.
Managers who understand the process but cannot hold the conversation escalate everything they touch. Managers who can hold the conversation but do not know the process create procedural defects that only surface much later, usually at the worst moment. Most organisations need both and buy only the first.
