ESG Training
ESG training used to be an awareness exercise. Australian sustainability reporting requirements have moved part of it into obligation territory, and that changes what the training has to do.
Where an entity is in scope, climate related financial disclosure is prepared under the relevant accounting standard and sits inside the annual reporting process, with the assurance and director sign off that implies.
The practical consequence is that the people who collect the underlying data now need to understand it well enough to stand behind the numbers. Energy use, emissions data, supplier information. That is an operational training need, not an awareness one.
Scope and timing depend on entity size and reporting obligations, so check where your organisation sits rather than assuming the requirements do not reach you.
