Hand Washing Training
Hand washing training is normally assigned by role, and the roles chosen are clinical. That leaves out several groups who work in the same environment.
Cleaning staff, who touch more surfaces across more rooms than anybody. Kitchen and food service staff, who carry their own separate requirements. Maintenance workers entering clinical areas. Administrative staff working at reception or in wards. Volunteers. Contractors attending site.
Each of those moves between spaces and people, and none of them is usually on the training list.
Work health and safety duties are generally owed to workers rather than only to employees, which reaches contractors and volunteers as well.
Assigning by physical area rather than by job title is a simple fix and it closes most of the gap.
Safe Work Australia covers duties owed to all workers. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
