How To Deal With The Cyber Harassment
Working out how to deal with cyber harassment happening to you at work is easier if you handle the evidence before anything else.
Screenshot immediately. Capture the message, the sender name and the timestamp in the same image. Messages get deleted, group chats are cleared, and accounts get closed.
Save it outside work systems. Email it to a personal address. Access to work accounts can be removed quickly during any dispute.
Do not reply in anger. Your own response becomes part of the record too, and it will be read alongside theirs.
Then decide. Report internally, block and mute, or seek advice first. Preserving evidence does not commit you to any of them.
Support is available at any stage, and using it before you decide anything is entirely reasonable. The Australian Human Rights Commission sets out the pathways. This is general information rather than legal advice.
