HRMS For Small Business
An HRMS for small business is often assessed against a feature list written for organisations with an HR department. That list answers questions a small employer does not have.
The obligations, though, do not scale down. Record-keeping duties, pay slip requirements, leave entitlements, work health and safety duties and anti-discrimination obligations apply regardless of headcount. A small employer carries them with less support and less margin for error.
What matters at that size is narrow and practical. One reliable place for employee records. Leave balances that are correct. Policies acknowledged and evidenced. Training assigned and recorded. Onboarding that does not depend on one person remembering the steps.
Succession planning modules and workforce analytics can wait until there is someone to run them. The record and the evidence cannot.
