Two questions rarely get answered before the software goes in. Who is the approver when the direct manager is away or is the person requesting. And on what basis can a request be refused.
Annual leave generally cannot be refused unreasonably, and what counts as reasonable depends on the circumstances and any award or agreement terms. Personal leave is different again, because it is taken rather than approved, subject to notice and evidence requirements.
