NDIS Compliance
NDIS compliance is commonly organised around the audit date. Work intensifies for a month or two beforehand, the audit passes, and attention moves elsewhere until the next one.
The obligations do not work that way. Registered providers carry ongoing duties covering the quality and safety of supports, worker screening, incident management, complaints handling and behaviour support. Each one is a live requirement rather than something demonstrated once a cycle.
What that changes is where the effort goes. A provider that can produce records for any date, showing who was screened, what training they completed, which incidents were reported and how complaints were resolved, has almost nothing to prepare. A provider that builds the file before an audit is describing a system that only exists in audit months.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission publishes provider obligations. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
