NDIS Practice Standards
The NDIS Practice Standards are often read as a single document that applies uniformly. They are modular, and getting the scope wrong wastes a great deal of effort.
There is a core set covering rights and responsibilities, governance and operational management, the provision of supports, and the environment in which supports are delivered. That applies broadly.
Then there are supplementary modules tied to particular supports and settings, covering areas such as high intensity daily personal activities, specialist behaviour support, early childhood supports and implementing restrictive practices.
Two errors follow from misreading this. Preparing against modules that do not apply to you, and missing one that does because the service quietly expanded into a new support type without anybody going back to revisit the registration.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission publishes the standards. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
