Online Privacy Training

Online privacy training frequently opens with the legislation, and staff disengage within minutes. They do not need to recite principles. They need habits, because most breaches are ordinary mistakes made in a hurry.

The recurring ones are specific. Sending to the wrong recipient, or using cc instead of bcc on a list. Attaching the wrong file, or a spreadsheet with a hidden tab. Discussing a client or patient somewhere they can be overheard. Leaving documents on a printer. Taking records home on a personal device. Giving information to a caller who sounded legitimate.

None of those is a knowledge failure. They are habit and pressure failures, and the training that reduces them teaches a pause before sending, a check of the recipient list, and a rule about where information may be discussed.
