Respect In The Workplace Course
A respect in the workplace course comes in three formats, and on this subject the trade-offs are not the usual ones.
Online. Scales across sites and shifts, consistent, and produces completion evidence. It also gives privacy, which matters more here than on most topics.
Facilitated in a room. Best for practice, and it carries a real risk. A session about disrespect held in front of the person responsible produces silence, nervous agreement, and occasionally harm to someone in the room.
Blended. Content online, practice in a short facilitated session, ideally in intact teams with a skilled facilitator.
If a team has an active problem, do not start with a group workshop. Deal with the behaviour directly first, then train the team once it is safe to have the conversation in one room.
Safe Work Australia covers psychosocial hazards. This is general information rather than legal advice.
