Respect In Work Environment
Respect in work environment discussions usually gets reduced to manners. Politeness is the easy part and it tells you very little about how a workplace actually operates.
The harder test is what happens when something goes wrong. Can someone say a decision was a mistake without it being held against them. Can a junior person contradict a senior one in a meeting. Can somebody admit they do not understand.
Workplaces with excellent manners and none of that are common enough to be worth naming. They are quiet and agreeable, and problems surface late because raising them is socially expensive for the person who does it.
The practical signal to watch is not complaint volume, which measures process rather than culture. It is whether anyone brings bad news early, and what visibly happens to them when they do it.
