What Is Workforce Management System
What is workforce management system scope, described as what it actually does rather than what it is called?
It is a chain. Demand is forecast. A roster is built against it within award and availability constraints. Hours worked are captured, including variations. Those hours are interpreted against the award. The result goes to payroll.
Every link depends on the one before it. A perfect roster paired with poor time capture produces wrong pay. Accurate time capture paired with wrong award configuration produces wrong pay just as reliably.
Which means evaluating one link at a time is a mistake. Ask a vendor to demonstrate a full cycle for a single employee, from forecast through to what payroll actually receives, using your own award rather than a sample one.
The Fair Work Ombudsman publishes pay and record requirements. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
