What To Do If Sexually Harassed At Work
If you are working out what to do if sexually harassed at work, the useful order is not the one most policies set out. Records come first, decisions come later.
Write it down now. Date, time, what was said or done, exact words where you can, who else was there, how you responded. Keep it on a personal device, not a work one. Do this before you decide anything, because detail fades and you may want it months from now.
Keep the evidence. Screenshot messages and take copies. Access to work accounts can be removed quickly.
Then decide, in your own time. There is no requirement to report immediately, and delay does not invalidate a complaint.
Support is available, and it is reasonable to use it before deciding. The Australian Human Rights Commission explains your options. This is general information rather than legal advice.
