Why Is Cybersecurity Awareness Training Important
Why is cybersecurity awareness training important for a small business? Because the technical safety net a larger organisation relies on mostly does not exist.
A big employer has filtering, monitoring, a service desk to call, and someone who notices unusual activity. A twelve-person business often has none of that. The person who receives the suspicious invoice is also the person who approves it and pays it.
That concentration cuts both ways. There is no second check, and there is also no reason for a decision to take three days. Small organisations can adopt a simple, absolute rule and actually follow it. Any change to bank details is verified by phone on a number already held, every time, no exceptions, including when the request comes from the owner.
One rule, understood by everyone, closes the most expensive gap.
