Workplace Health And Safety Training Courses
Workplace health and safety training courses are typically bought as a bundle and assigned once a year. The assignment logic matters more than the catalogue.
- On commencement, before the first shift. Not in the next quarterly round. New workers carry the highest injury risk.
- On role change. Moving to a different site, task or shift pattern changes the exposure.
- On promotion to a supervisory role. The duties change, and this is the most commonly missed trigger.
- After an incident. Refreshed for the team involved, not just the individual.
Organisations that assign by calendar alone always carry a group of people doing high-risk work with training that has not yet reached them. That group is invisible on an annual completion report, because it looks compliant at the point the report is run.
Safe Work Australia publishes the model WHS laws. This is general information rather than legal advice.
