Workplace Safety Training
Workplace safety training bought as a course covers the general layer well. The layer it cannot cover is the one that matters most on day one, which is your site.
No module knows where your emergency exits are, which door sticks, where the chemicals are stored, which machine has a guard that needs checking, or who the first aid officer is on the afternoon shift.
That layer has to be delivered on site, by someone who works there, and it takes twenty minutes. A walk of the actual area, pointing at the actual things.
Two failures are common. It gets skipped for contractors and labour hire workers, who are frequently the least familiar with the site and the most exposed. And it is never recorded, so there is no evidence it happened.
Record it in the same system as the online modules, against the person and the date.
Safe Work Australia covers duties to workers including contractors. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
