360 Degree Feedback Software
360 degree feedback software is sold on anonymity, and anonymity is harder to deliver than the marketing suggests.
In a team of four, one direct report’s comment identifies itself. Writing style gives people away. So does the subject matter, since only one person was in that meeting. Someone who has been told their feedback is anonymous, and then finds it was not, will not participate honestly again.
Two settings help. A minimum number of responses before a category is reported at all, usually three or more, with results suppressed below that. And aggregating peers and reports into groups rather than showing individual responses.
Be honest in the invitation about the limits of what can be kept private. Promising more anonymity than the maths allows is what causes the damage.
The Fair Work Commission covers workplace processes. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
