Manual Handling Training Course
A manual handling training course is one of the most commonly purchased compliance modules and one of the least often evaluated afterwards.
The question that predicts whether it changes anything is narrow. Does it use your tasks, or generic ones?
A course showing a warehouse box lift teaches very little to an aged care worker repositioning a resident, a hospitality worker carrying trays down stairs, or a technician working in a confined space. Workers recognise immediately when the examples are not theirs, and they discount the whole session.
Ask a provider whether they will use your actual tasks, whether the content covers task and equipment redesign rather than posture alone, and whether it is Australian, since the model code and duties differ from overseas material.
Ask for the injury data from their last three clients in your sector. Safe Work Australia publishes the model code. This is general information rather than legal advice.
