Sustainable Development Goals Training
Sustainable development goals training tends to stay conceptual until it reaches the supply chain, at which point several goals become concrete very quickly.
Decent work, gender equality and responsible production all describe things that either are or are not happening at a supplier. Australian modern slavery reporting already requires larger entities to describe the risks in their operations and supply chains and what they did about them.
That existing work is the obvious anchor. The supplier questionnaire, the risk assessment and the remediation record are the same evidence base, viewed through a different frame.
Training that connects the two saves duplicated effort and, more usefully, stops the goals being handled by a separate team writing a separate document that nobody outside that team ever reads.
The Australian Modern Slavery Register explains the reporting requirement. This is general information rather than legal advice, and obligations vary by state and territory.
